Sorry it's been so long...

Here's my Willow-girl, just shy of 5 months! Time has certainly flown by. She's grown so much, both in stature and personality. She's recovering quite nicely from her recent spay, (8/24/11), and is still just the sweetest thing! She certainly is a talker, but makes up for that barking by snuggling with her mama.  :)

As most anyone knows, we just endured a beating from Hurricane Irene. We lost cable/internet, followed by power yesterday, but luckily all were returned today. All three of the dogs were great throughout, but weren't entirely thrilled about doing their business amidst powerful wind and rain. Being a California girl, myself, I'm much more accustomed to earthquakes than these hurricanes and tornadoes. Oh, yes, did I mention that we recently experienced an earthquake, too? I pray we leave this place soon.

Just a quick update...

I'm so proud of our three cardis, as they've been getting along so well! Better than I had imagined. They all play together, groom one another, and snuggle, too! We definitely had it good with Emma and Riley, and I am so happy to report that Willow has been welcomed with "open paws." She is eager to learn new things and please her new family. We couldn't be happier!!

Today was her first vet visit, and she was great! She weighed in at 11.9 lbs! I just had to take a photo of her with her new vet. Enjoy!

PetSmart...been there, done that

Willow enjoyed her first trip to PetSmart yesterday! Emma & Riley had a great time, as well, but it was by no means their first rodeo.  :) It was so hot & humid, that walking them outside was next to impossible, so we stayed inside the store a bit longer than usual. Thank goodness for air conditioning! Of course, Willow got to choose a toy to commemorate this occasion, and all were given treats. Even my kids got a treat on the way home! Spoiling my family is something I very much enjoy!

One of us, one of us...

Willow had tried all weekend to initiate play with both Emma & Riley. They were less than amused. Still she invited them to play with her. Riley was tempted yesterday morning, and they began to play! I was so happy to witness this. Emma still denied herself the fun of frolicking with her little sis, but it was short-lived. Yesterday afternoon, after several more failed attempts, Willow was finally successful in winning Emma over. All is right in my world.

What a weekend!

Willow has been exploring her new home and making a name for herself here. She's got a voice and she's not afraid to use it! I think this Washington State pup may be a tad surprised by the heat & humidity of North Carolina. (Aren't we all?) Panting has become her new habit. She's been enjoying running around the yard, though, and trying to keep up with Emma & Riley. I love that she often rolls over, inviting me to rub her belly. Currently, Willow is frapping in the dining room! I am so incredibly happy with my little girl! Thank you again, Kim and Mark!  :)

Willow has arrived...

After flying across the country today, Willow has finally arrived! We actually heard her before they brought her to us. We played a little bit in the cargo area, then started for home. She was great in the car! Once she saw her own reflection in the window and began barking at it! It was hilarious! We got home a little after 1 am, made introductions to Emma and Riley, then played a bit. She went outside and did her thing, and when she came back in, she went to sleep. Sweet dreams, little one. What a sweet puppy! I think I should try to get a little bit of sleep, too. Goodnight everyone!

Too excited to sleep...

Here it is after 4am, and I simply cannot fall asleep. I feel like a child on Christmas Eve, waiting for this amazing gift! Lexi and Cole are excited, also, but thankfully they were able to sleep. As I snuggle with Riley, I can't help but wonder what it'll be like to see Willow for the very first time. I pray she has a safe and uneventful flight and that she's happy to see us, too. Let's try this one more time...sleep, Cassie, sleep.
